Getting Around

Private vehicles must be left in designated car parks on the mainland. From there, visitors can take a free shuttle bus (le Passeur), walk (about 40 minutes), or take a horse-drawn carriage to the base of the Mount. The island itself is explorable only on foot, with many steep steps.

Local Flavors

The local cuisine features Normandy specialties like 'salt marsh lamb' (agneau de pré-salé), raised on the salty fields, locally harvested mussels (moules de bouchot), and the famous fluffy 'Omelette de la Mère Poulard'.
